But the classic gin and vermouth Martini is certainly not dead. Those who still call that their Martini of choice are the “purists.” And for us vodka martini drinkers, our hats off to our gin brethren. It doesn’t get any “dirtier” than a gin Martini with extra olives!! When enjoying a classic martini, the aroma of the gin is splendid, whereas with the vodka martini, the aroma is usually that of the mixer, rather than the vodka.

How to Make a Cosmopolitan

The recipe for a cosmopolitan may vary.

The best ingredients for a cosmopolitan are 4 parts vodka, 2 parts triple sec, 2 parts cranberry juice, and 1 part fresh lime juice. 

Combine the ingredients with chipped ice and shake well. Garnish with a lemon peel twist.

Grey Goose Vodka Martini

Welcome to the Martini Party. When at a Martini Party, my favorite drink is the Lemon Drop Grey Goose Vodka Martini, shaken not stirred.  There is no other taste like that of chilled Grey Goose Vodka.

Mix 6 parts Grey Goose Vodka, 1 part dry vermouth, 1/2 oz. lemon juice and a teaspoon of sugar into a shaker full of chipped ice and shake well. Strain into a chilled Martini glass rimmed with sugar and garnished with a lemon twist.  Now that’s good stuff!
